After School Programs
CalSERVES partners with local schools to implement high quality after school programs that provide youth a safe and productive place to be with positive adult role models. These programs feature academic mentoring, character education, service learning, nutrition education, physical education, and a variety of engaging enrichment activities.
After School Inclusion Project (ASIP)
CalSERVES works with the California Department of Education on the After School Inclusion Project. Inclusion is more than the presence of children with disabilities or other special needs in After School Programs; it is about belonging. A focus on belonging benefits all children. Learn more.
AmeriCorps VIP
The AmeriCorps VIP project is designed to address the significant challenges faced by California community’s due to the recent economic downturn. Through the program, teams of AmeirCorps members will be placed in communities to develop volunteer programs, harnessing the desire to serve to directly impact communities in need.>
California After School Demonstration Program (CASDP)
CalSERVES has the opportunity to model high quality effective practices and provide technical support and training to after school sites throughout the state of California, with the goal of raising student achievement in programs statewide. Learn more.
Reading Programs
Reading Programs of CalSERVES engage AmeriCorps members and volunteers as reading tutors for struggling readers throughout Santa Rosa.
Training Programs
CalSERVES is the Regional Learning Center in Region 1 for After School. In this capacity, CalSERVES provides a range of services to after school programs in the region in addition to its training programs that are designed to support paraprofessionals in national service, mentoring, character education, nutrition, and Physical Activity.
